Create an API ID/Key Pair

Important Note

This tutorial and the steps explained in it are valid for using on ALL our brands. NetDNA, MaxCDN, CloudCache, and HDDN.

Creating an API ID/Key Pair is imperative to be able to utilize the NetDNA API. The Key/ID Pair is used to authenticate the user to the API Server, therefore allowing them to execute API commands.

Text Tutorial

  1. Login to your NetDNA/MaxCDN/CloudCache Account.
  2. Click on “My Settings” on the top-left area.
  3. Click “API”
  4. Click “Add Key”.
  5. Enter a short description for the key, something for your own records to know which key is being used for what functionality.
  6. Select the Privileges; Master or Individual Zone Key. The Master Key can do anything on the account, such as create Zones, retrieve bandwidth usage data etc… An Individual Zone key is limited to controlling the zone assigned to it. You can only assign ONE Zone per API Key.
  7. Click “Save”.
  8. Click on “API” Again, you will see the newly created API ID/Key pair.
