HTTP caching without HTTPS leaks cookies and triggers browser warnings. EdgeSSL terminates TLS on the same SSD PoPs that serve EdgeCaching, with hardware offload and always-on provisioning.
What is edge SSL?
The TLS handshake happens at the NetDNA PoP. Browsers talk HTTPS to the edge; the origin can stay HTTP on a private fetch or also use HTTPS.
SAN or wildcard on a CDN?
Use a SAN certificate when you have a short list of hostnames (cdn.example.com, static.example.com). Use a wildcard for *.cdn.example.com style customer hostnames on EdgeCaching for Platforms.
Why do I still see mixed content?
The HTML still references http:// URLs. Update WordPress/W3TC or Magento to https://cdn.example.com after EdgeSSL is provisioned.
