Customers are taking notice as NetDNA continues to rewrite the rules of the CDN space.
NetDNA was founded in October 2009 by Ben Neumann and Chris Ueland. Prior to NetDNA, Chris and Ben founded and operated Globat.com a leading shared-hosting company with over 100,000 concurrent customers. In early 2009, Globat was sold to a Private Equity firm and web hosting consolidator with over 50 acquisitions of shared-hosting companies under their belt.
After Ben and Chris delivered Globat to the acquirer in July 2009 the two partners started thinking about their next business ventures in which they wanted to take their composition of quality resources, business expertise and personal relationships to the next level. It was then that the CDN industry became a clear vision for a defensible business and an industry of opportunity. With renewed direction Ben and Chris started to develop their business plan and began deploying hardware in datacenters around the world, while letting their engineers loose on designing a state-of-the-art and extremely flexible network from the ground up.
Self-funded and hungry to compete, Ben and Chris surrounded themselves with a group of other highly successful entrepreneurs to fill NetDNA’s key executive positions and set out to find the proper bandwidth partner to ensure low cost and quality bandwidth so NetDNA could compete aggressively on price without jeopardizing quality. Their friend and co-founder of bandwidth provider Mzima, Grant Kirkwood came to them with the partnership they needed to get NetDNA completely off the ground and allow NetDNA to pass their tremendous cost savings along to its customers; creating an unbeatable CDN value proposition that continues to surprise customers, from medium to enterprise size alike, to this day.
Since then, NetDNA has grown quickly, launching two additional brands, MaxCDN and HDDN, a self-service, pay-as-you-go CDN solution and a self-service video-on-demand solution respectively. With over 2,000 customers, and such notable clients as Mashable.com, Garmin.com, EarthDay.org and ReadWriteWeb.com, NetDNA is poised to be a leading contender in the CDN space, due to their lean network, flexible deployment, custom development, dedicated support and low cost bandwidth. Customers and partners are taking notice as NetDNA continues to rewrite the rules of the CDN space.
